Establishment

This scholarship was established to support a student financially while conducting a Physics Honours Project with the Centre for Organic Electronics (COE) at the University of Newcastle.

The recipient must be enrolled in the Bachelor of Science Honours program. The project can be co-designed between the student and supervisor.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, you will need to:

  • Be enrolled in your final/Honours year of the Bachelor of Science (Honours).
  • Be undertaking an Honours project in Physics that the Centre of Organic Electronics has approved for this scholarship.
  • Be intending to study on a full-time basis (minimum 60 units per year).
  • Have a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 6.0 or higher.
  • Be an Australian citizen or an Australian permanent resident (including holders of a permanent humanitarian visa and New Zealand citizens with permanent residency).

  • Outline (around 300 words) your interest in this scholarship, and how your Physics Honours Project will be compatible with the Centre for Organic Electronics (COE).

Benefit

This scholarship provides a benefit of $4000 paid as $2000 on commencement and $2000 on completion of the scholarship.


Selection

Selection is a competitive process based on a review of eligible applications and required supporting documents. Academic merit and project suitability may be taken into account,

Selection will be made by the Centre for Organic Electronics Selection Committee which will consist of a minimum of three members.

The Selection Committee will communicate the details of successful recipients to the delegated Scholarships Officer, and all applicants will be notified of an outcome via email within 6 weeks of scholarship close date.
